Catching up with photo's..little of this and that

          I know Halloween was nearly a month ago...but I have pictures on my phone, my ipod and the camera; so I finally got everything onto the computer and I am playing catch up.  I have lots to post, but will do so over the several days.  This was Mac's simple but cute cookie monster outfit.

                                   .....then she found blue spray for her hair.  I voted for the cookie monster hat; which she ended up wearing most of the trick or treating time.

                         Are we getting close to harmony????  That is my goal...Cat and dog within feet of each other and no hissing, flying fur and barking!!  Yay!

                  and the holiday's just arent the holiday's without Mitch's homemade party mix!!!  Yes..I did cook too..I made the sides, homemade rolls and a pie.  :)

Vegas Vacation

          Mitch and I finally got to take a vacation without the kiddos!  We drove to Las Vegas..it's only about 4 1/2 hours.  Mitch got us a Spa Suite at the Luxor. 

 From Phoenix to Vegas you pretty much get a mountainous view the entire drive.  A very pretty drive.

    You can tell by the ceiling that our room is near the top of the Luxor

                  Need I say more....if you watch Pawn Stars you know what this is!

                    Mitch was like a kid in a candy store!  They werent there when we were, but it was still cool!

   Mom kept the kids for us and got to enjoy some time with them.  Mac ended up being sick for part of the time...I was worried we would all get it, but never did.

       Ok...Im trying to learn to crochet something other than potholders and scarves...this is supposed to be a stocking hat...I have since started over 2 more times.  I finally had to take it to JoAnn's when mom and I went and a lady that worked there showed me what I was doing wrong.  Whew!  I will snap a photo when I am finally finished!

Carving pumpkins and Halloween

 For some reason our children decided to do head stands in between pumpkin carving...

    We are still Cardinal fans...even though they have only won one.

 I baked a pumpkin (a small one) to make homemade pumpkin puree....it was easy.

 I also toasted some pumkin seeds....i burnt the batch last year and they were horrible, these came out much better.  They may look dark, but it's the seasonings i put on them.

Family time and family fun!

 Tonight we were just goofing around.  It was boys vs. girls in a game of bowling on the wii. The boys named their team the Bulls...we were nameless. And the boys won... Also, if you look really close at Marcus' mouth you can tell he is missing a top tooth.  He pulled it out himself earlier this week.

 Mackenzie had a project on Native American tribes and their dwellings...she worked on it over her fall break.

 She turned it in early and got an A++    :)

    Midwestern University has their big gala event "Bright Lights  Shining Stars", every October.  I got a few photo's but then the batteries went dead in the camera before I could get someone to take a picture of Mitch and I...

  You can barely make out the Midwestern logo lit up on the building....it was a fun time, as always.
