Friendly Pines

Marcus had to be at the school at 7 this morning to load up on the bus for his big trip to Friendly Pines.  The entire 5th grade went along with teachers and parent chaperones.  He could hardly sleep last night.

Marcus and his friends. Have fun Marcus! :)

Life without Parole

I have followed this trial from the beginning.  Ive never seen someone control a courtroom like Jodi.  She finally got her sentence today and I am happy that it's finally over.  Enjoy Perryville Prison Jodi.

My PSU roomie!!

I got to spend a very quick weekend with my roommate from Pitt State!  We had the BEST time catching up and talking about our fun college days!

We stayed up rocking out to 80's music.  So fun!
I can't believe we actually got up and went hiking this morning!  It was a beautiful morning and a great time.  Thanks for coming to see us Mike and Nicole.  I miss you already!

Happy Easter!

The Youth Choir performed all the music for this morning's Sunrise Service.  It was really nice.  I will admit it was hard because Mackenzie and I had to be at the church at 5:15 this morning for practice and set up.  The boys got to church by 6:15 and the service was at 6:30.  Now we can relax and maybe even catch a nap today.  Happy Easter!

First day of Spring Break!

Marcus and Copper and I went on a walk...it was a 3 mile walk.  Pretty proud of this guy hanging in there the whole way.  The pool is still pretty chilly but it didn't stop him.  Great way to start a spring break!

Happy Birthday Mackenzie!

Can you believe she is 14 today?  I can't.  Yet, she is growing up to be a pretty sweet and caring young lady.  Tonight we are going to The Cheesecake Factory, yum!  Mackenzie wanted me to make Grandma Katy's poke cake, so I made a strawberry one. It is such a good light cake.  She got lots of balloons and candy and birthday wishes from friends, family and even her boyfriend, Chance. She is a pretty happy 14 year old! :)

Ghnocci, Wine and stuffed eggplant

Heather came over today for some fun and cooking.  She made her grandma's gnocchi  ( dumplings made of flour and potato and egg. I made a stuffed eggplant and she brought ingredients to help out with both plus she brought her dog Bo ( Coppers hiking buddy and "true love" according to Marcus. We had so much fun. Mac put on 80's music and it was quite the party. Heather's daughter Sarah came just in time to try our dinner.  Mac even made the cream cheese with marshmallow cream to dip strawberries in! Great day and a great time.

Market on the Move

Today I went to Markets on the Move. One of Heather's clients told us about it.  You pay $10 and get 60 lbs of fruit and vegetables. I was trying to attach their website but my iPad won't seem to let me do it.  I couldn't believe all the food you get.  There is a sign posted right before you pay letting you know what you will be getting.  It varies because of what's in season and what the local producers bring in. Today I got 5 giant eggplant, 3 spaghetti squash, 10 green peppers, 5 yellow peppers...a giant bag of mixed greens and tons and tons of green beans, Serrano and banana peppers and Roma tomatoes.  I was totally unprepared.  When I pulled up and got out to get in line I looked around and everyone had wagons and pull carts and laundry baskets....I had nothing...luckily they give you boxes but it's not exactly easy to go through a line and drag boxes when one gets full.  And did I mention Heather couldn't make it but I paid $10 for her as well so I actually had to get 120 lbs of veggies!! I'll know better next time! 😊

Cheer competition

Today was the cheer competition for the Deer Valley School District. Our Terramar cheerleaders got 3rd place beating out some fantastic schools. Pretty awesome considering they didn't even get started until halfway through the season! I'm so proud of them!!!

Band Concert and pie

Marcus had his first band concert.  Waiting for their turn to perform.

He even had a little part where it was only him playing.  Each child got a chance to do that.

Look at this price!!!! ....and yes, I paid it because I wanted a Dutch Rhubarb pie that bad!!!

Can I tell you it was soooo good!!!!

Gift card shopping.

Mackenzie got a Barnes and Noble gift card from the Bird family and so she finally spent it.  She got a book and a journal.  She got Flowers in the Attic and Petals in the Wind.  Flowers in the attic was the first series of books I ever read.

Marcus spent his gift card to Hobby Lobby from Papa and Grandma Katy.  New brushes and a couple paint markers and a canvas and he still has money left.  He always likes to leave a little left on a gift card so he can go back again. :)

I rescued this plant last week and another one that looks just like it.  Someone moved out of a house near ours and they were sitting on the edge of the driveway with a sign that said "take me"....so of course, I took them.  I gave one to my girlfriend Heather.  I love a good find!!!

A visit from family

My cousin came for a quick visit from Alaska before heading up to the Grand Canyon for a 2 week work training trip.  It went fast but we stayed busy and  got to catch up a lot.  We went hiking and then went to the Botanical Gardens...the weather was great!

I just felt like taking a picture of Annie taking a picture. :)

It was so good to see her!!
