Halloween Eve

                     Pumpkin carving time!  Mitch and the kids started carving tonight...if any of you watch Pawn Stars...take note of Mitch's Chumley tshirt :)

                    I can remember when this one was about 1 1/2 years old in her little zip up footie pj's watching her daddy carve the pumpkin...

Where has October gone?

                                  Is October really almost over?  This month has flown by; The weekends have been busy and now it's time to start thinking about the holidays.  This cushion and table were a few of my great finds while out shopping. 

                              Mackenzie is ready to go to the school carnival and spend the day hanging out with her friends.  But...before she could go I had a few chores for her.....

                               She wouldn't let me take a picture of her while cleaning or wearing gloves...but she conquered her and Marcus' bathroom! 

                                     Now she knows what these are for!  :)

                        This plant was practically dead and down to one or 2 leaves.  so I took it out of the pot it was in and put it in a mason jar with just water....look how pretty it is!  It does better in water than soil...go figure.

                           This is Marcus doing what he does best...playing the Wii.  He has a new wrestling game and he LOVES it...now he is totally into wrestling.

                          I have been doing a lot of painting lately.  Just a wall here and there to add a little color to the house.  I have a little darker brown in the dining room and a deep red or wine color in the "room still waiting for a name"...it will either be the library, sitting room or living room

Quick Trip Home

                   I just got back from a whirl wind quick trip back to Kansas.  Mainly to see my grandmother who turned 84 this year.  This is her family quilt.  It has all our names and patches of material we all picked out.

     My sister came up to Kansas City so I could spend some time with her...

                                                  and mom too.....she made chicken fajitas and then we had cake in Lyndon for my birthday :)

    

         my aunt Karen let us camp out at her place....she made a wonderful apple pie that made her house smell soooo good!  She also gave me some tea towels that she embroidered sunbonnet sue's onto!

                                   I drove to Lyndon for a quick day to see my dad......

I also surprised my dear friend and college roommate  Nicole.  I wish I could have captured the look on her face when she saw me.  We both burst into tears and hugged!   I also surprised my friend Kevin, but forgot my camera :(  Im sorry to all my friends and family that didn't know I was there.  I just couldn't get everywhere; I just had to spend time with my grandma and help her out.  It was a great, super fast trip that I won't soon forget!
